i’ve just got back from catching Mr and Mrs Smith at my favourite cinema.
it was a pretty good movie and i quite enjoyed it. the actions scenes were pretty cool, if not entirely original, save perhaps the last scene. i think Doug Liman, the director, was channelling John Woo but i don’t think i’ve ever seen bullet ballet done by a couple as variously intriguing and whoa-mama-sexy as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. in the end, one has to admit the movie is a mere vehicle for the sizzling, smoking chemistry between the two.
i do hope Hollywood gets the bright idea to team them up again. it’d be real interesting to see what else they can cook up with ingredients as spicy as Pitt and Jolie.
i watched the movie with two old friends, Ralph and Ronald. we’ve known each other since junior college. there’s just something so comfortable and wonderful about being able to kick back with old buddies whom you are able to shoot the bull with over neslo, fastfood, teh tarik and whathaveyou and about anything under the sun (which in guyspeak amounts to football, basketball, comics, film, pop culture, army and jc experiences).
it’s like slipping into my well-worn pair of Levis.
Comfortable as hell.
i am very thankful. Thank You, Abba, for old friends.
Now if You will only just speed on the day that they too will come to know You…
