Today was an emotionally trying day.
Long goodbyes and fond farewells.
Friends/colleagues leaving for pastures greener (moot).
The last day of school and another year in the life of my girls have passed, bringing all of them that much closer to the harsh, harsh world of reality.
i really fear for you, girls.
i fear so much that sometimes i can’t help trembling a little .
i fear that you will not live out your potential; i fear that you will not shine as lights in school now and in the years of your life ahead; i fear that you will be too encumbered by the burden of sorrow that all who live in this fallen world must bear; i fear you will simply fall and give up; i fear that you will not be the difference-makers, the history-makers that you all can be.
i fear that you will not live as people bearing the image of the Most High God ought to live.
Gloriously! Wondrously! Brilliantly!
If there’s one thing i’d like you to ponder on in the next two months of fun, fun, fun, it’s this – will you choose to let your life – YOUR dreams, YOUR words, YOUR deeds – echo for eternity?
i pray and i will continue to pray till my last breath leaves me, for every one of you whom my Lord has given me the privilege of teaching, that it will be so.
Have fun during the holidays and may your lives truly echo for an eternity and eternity after!
