Persecution

Christian or non-Christian, i would like to invite you to read a few of the articles on the link below.

For my Christian brothers and sisters, see how Jesus’ words come true in the lives of millions of our bothers and sisters all over the world everyday – that they do indeed face persecution everyday, often to the point of death.

For those of you who are not yet believers, read the articles and wonder why millions of people would rather face torture and death than denounce their belief in the person of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the Cross.

I implore you to really think about it.

Perhaps Christians in Singapore are too complacent and hypocritical. I’d be the first to confess that i’m guilty of that daily.

But don’t dismiss what you will read in the articles.

Don’t chalk it off to temporary insanity or delusions.

Most decisions made by people to give up their lives are conscious. Soberingly and calculatedly so.

And we have to ask ourselves honestly, “What on earth (or in heaven) would induce people to willingly give up their their comfort, their physical well-being, their very lives?”

So do take some time to read, even if it is only one article.

Be struck to the heart. Be horrified. Be broken.

Father in heaven, forgive me for my self-indulgent posturing and angst. Thank you for all the comfort and security in Singapore which i do not deserve in the least. Teach me and help me to pray for Your people, my people, my brothers and sisters, who daily suffer and are persecuted for Your name’s sake. Let me show such courage daily in Singapore. And if You ever count me worthy to suffer as such for Your name, i pray, that by Your grace, i will be similarly faithful and enduring.

In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, i pray.
