i wouldn’t say that it’s a patriotic poem or describe myself as being patriotic. But i do love Singapore.
It’s only natural, if you consider that of all the countries in the world, God placed me in Singapore. Keeping in mind the two greatest comandments, or what i also like to call “The Meaning of Life Revealed”, it only follows to love the people around you – the people that make up Singapore.
So it’s not a love for an abstract entity, as in the concept of the nation Singapore, but Singapore as defined by its people.

but on to the poem. its REALLY UNUSUAL for a singaporean to be patriotic toward singapore. xD but in your poem you dont actually seem to be taking any stand. you just seem to.. describe the flag and where its commonly found. and the screws and the material. The exception comes from the last part, where you say you wish to hold onto the stars etc. i think only that part is mildly pariotic.

D look at this (barely) thousand thousand number of words to express my opinion on your poem (and other stuff). haha. and i LOVE how you describe the screws SNUG againt the wall. SO CUTE!! i can imagine them, snuggling up to the cement wall, their tracks holding the plastic coloured board to the wall. 
and you describe the flag from big to small right? the backing, the stars and moon, then the teeny tiny screws. XD oh man. 
but i guess its kinda cute. the way you describe it. and im quite sure most of the singapore flags pinned in classrooms are made of cheap acrylic. do you think the government would provide otherwise? XP
AND AND! FOR WHITE CHICKS. IT WAS REALLY REALLY R(A)! and thats putting it mildly. *shoots you a horrified look* ESPECIALLY the skipped part, although eventually you kept moving the cursor back and forth so much we just about saw it all. it was SICK. its practically porn! *gags* it WAS.
but besides that, white chicks is quite a senseless, lousy film. haha. i thought it would be entertaining, but it kinda failed my expectations. all the humour is cheap and uh, funny while it lasts. after i laughed, i felt that it wasnt actually all that worth laughing over.
and did i laugh too loudly? some parts were funny cause it sort of made fun of the male gender, so naturally, i delighted over it. but otherwise, did i laugh particularly loud? lol. this is so embarrassing.
anyway, macbeth in jap is boring. its not actually, but the story progressed SO SLOWLY i fell asleep. for a few seconds i think. seriously! we teenage girls need entertainment! or at least mushy, CLEAN romance stories. that kind i guess. if you showed us stuff like passion of christ i suppose nobody would like it (save me and a few?) cause its just not the typical thing a teenage girl watches. BUT, as you can see from the enthu reaction from white chicks, majority of the class (me inclusive) find joy in this kind of brainless, senseless, mindless cheap-humour-ed movies. you probably know it too. but thats just for your information.

AND AND! my toes are no longer swollen!!! (i think) okay, they are less swollen. but thats GREAT!! my little toes no longer look like little tree stumps!! YAY!! but the bruises are surfacing. just cant wait to go for tui na. *cringes* oh man. already, the surfaced bruises are like, BLACK. like purplish-blueish BLACK. its really gross. looks like my foot is rotting or something. and because of the poultice, my ankle upwards is covered in rashes. eaughh. i HATE rashes. i bet in allergic to something in the poultice. my mom said it was the ginger. so i omitted the ginger in the second round. hopefully the rash will go away. (my mom bought the herbs and stuff and i prepared them and pounded them and she fried[?] them and applied it onto my foot while i squealed cause the poultice was so hot. finger temperature wise, it wasnt, but foot temperature wise, it was DARNED HOT. not like she cared. ._.) yup. so thats the vauge and uninformative story of my foot. wanna read more? go to my blog!

for the forum fact, i agree. and because of the fact that its a poem on the singapore flag, i feel like ranting about this years GE. I CANT STAND IT!! you know, in hougang, low thia kiang actually walks around talking to the people like on a daily basis? he at least SHOWS HIS FACE and INTERACTS WITH THE CITIZENS. thats SO MUCH unlike eric low, who dosent do ANYTHING except conduct a house call promising upgrades 1 MONTH before the elections. the DaVinci code is so random and outrageous i can’t believe people actually say it sways their faith. i actually think Dan Brown is a really creative author who lacks the brains to express himself, thus ripping off and distorting facts from other books. (not just the Bible) And even if Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children, does that mean he is no longer our Lord God and saviour? Course not. Just about the only creative thing he did was to create the sacred femenine thing, which i personally feel is just a ’subset’ of God. Its not like the Bible (and Christianity on the whole) shuns women! Look at the Catholic faith. Roman Catholic, to be specific. Mary is such a big figure in the church! There are even feast days in honour of her! Like the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Feast of the Immaculate Conception etc. there’s a WHOLE LIST of Marian feast days! How can you say we put down women? For crying out loud’s sake. and all the multitudes of female saints. isn’t that alone enough proof that women are not shunned? and to say that God was man and man alone, thats wrong. God is the Father, Son AND Holy Spirit, not just Jesus alone, although he DID bring salvation to mankind (which is a great feat. the greatest feat, in fact) so that only makes God like 1/3 human. And furthermore, if Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, he would not be technically male. so technically, he wouldnt be able to reproduce. and with Dan Broown saying HOLY y chromosome, thats just a bad lie. lol. its proven before that Jesus’s blood had a female set of chromosomes, so no effing way could he have given birth to kids. (pardon the pun) And Dan Brown also contradicts tons of stuff he says in the book, (if you look back on it after reading it) its actually very funny. now after i read ‘The DaVinci Deception’ i kinda wonder how he managed to even pull off publishing the book. HES SO IGNORANT. but i dont think he cares. so all i can say is: The Devil probably tried to get this book selling out well to tweak the weaker people, but when the smart people in Chrisitan Theology(?) come together to rebuke the book, all it’d do is bolster and strengthen the faith.
p.s. i think Dan Brown is a loser. i hope he gets sued for millions. he deserves it for trying to pull off a bad joke worldwide.
