i’ve actually been wanting to record my thoughts about Graduation Day, ever since it took place last Saturday, but for some strange reason, i’ve not been able to articulate my thoughts.
So i’ll make it short and sweet.
You all were my first batch of students in Cedar, and for that simple reason, you will always have a special place in my heart. It may not mean anything much to you, but, yeah, it’ll be hard to forget you all.
Some of you i have gotten to know better than others (i think you know who you are). i thank God that our paths have crossed and, hopefully, Graduation Day doesn’t mark the end of our relationship, but perhaps a new stage of it. You have all provided me much encouragement and joy, especially in the darkest days and times when the burden of teaching and caring for so many students seemed too much to bear. The Lord lifted me from the mire of self in those times through you.

Feel free to address me as joshua or jianming (you might want to wait until after the O Levels…heh). If you want me to hate you, you can address me by my surname alone. Ha.
Thanks for the memories, girls. (i wasn’t crying during the Graduation ceremony, for those who thought i was. i was wearing contacts and they were drying up quicker than my throat does because of the haze. THAT’s why i kept rubbing my eyes. Looks like i’ll never be able to part from my trusty ol’ spectacles.)
