in the haze, in a daze

a heavy gloom falls lightly
silently, draping in unfamiliar grey
this city of black and white.
it hangs, prevalent and unacknowledged
by the denizens, whose hands
are thrust a little deeper
into pockets of comfort, whose steps are
more frantic, more frenzied.
but the streets are desolate anyway
today. the lines of the city,
of the neighbourhood are blurred
and only silhouettes and mirages remain,

So the night came, as it had to,
and with it, awkwardness, seeping through
every furtive glance, every nervous shift and
jerk of our bodies. Every uncertain smile and chuckle.

Litterbug

i dive fifteen
metres swan like off
the station my final
destination their alien words
fading falling fast into
the rushing wind and
for one moment
i am home back
with my apah my amah
with my beloved my brothers
my sisters and
i know i shall never
see them again
even as the ambivalent inky
tar welcomes me
 i crawl to the
green where ever i will lie
